  • - milk - 500g

  • - semolina - 5 tbsp. spoons

  • - egg - 1 pc.

  • - salt
  • For filling:

  • - egg yolk - 4 pcs.

  • - butter - 50g

  • - egg white - 4 pcs.

  • - walnut kernels - 100g
  • For gravy:

  • - granulated sugar - 100g

  • - water - 50g

  • - lemon juice - 2 tsp

Cook thick semolina porridge in milk. After the porridge is ready, remove from heat, add the egg, stir and cool.

Stir egg yolks thoroughly with butter, add to semolina. Pour crushed walnuts into the total mass and knead everything until smooth.

Separately beat the whites to a thick foam. Add to semolina dough.

Put the resulting dough in a greased baking dish. On top of the pie at the same distance from each other, spread the quarters of the walnut. Put the mold in the oven, heated to medium temperature. Bake for about 40 minutes until golden brown.

Gravy should be pre-cooked as follows:

Dilute granulated sugar with water and boil for about 15 minutes, then remove from heat, add lemon juice and mix well. Cool. Mannik is cut into pieces right in the mold. Served slices of gravy pie can be served with tea.

Useful advice

If you want a chocolate manna, add a few tablespoons of cocoa to the milk. The color saturation and taste of the dough will depend on the amount of cocoa powder.

If desired, you can decorate the cake with fruit on top before baking - slices of strawberries, banana or apple. This will give the cake a unique flavor.
