Pomegranate cleaning often turns into a real test. It is difficult to cut it without staining clothes and a tablecloth, and the separation of grains from the peel is an incredibly long and boring process. And I want to quickly enjoy the amazing pomegranate flavor! Meanwhile, the way to clean the pomegranate quickly and without spray is very simple.

You will need

  • - knife;

  • - a deep bowl of water;

  • - colander;

  • - Small capacity for pomegranate seeds.

Instruction manual

1

Take the grenade in one hand so that its “tail” is on top. Having departed from the top about 5 cm, make a circular incision of the peel without touching the grains. After that, remove the resulting “cap” of the peel - it separates quite easily.

2

Having exposed the upper part of the pulp, you will see that it is divided into several segments by white soft veins. Make longitudinal cuts of the peel along these veins, still without touching the grains. It is better not to cut the cuts to the lowest point of the grenade by 2-3 cm.

3

After making the cuts, slightly press on the grenade from above with your thumbs. It will be divided into slices indicated by incisions. After that, the membranes and the white center of the pomegranate can be easily removed.

4

Take a deep bowl and fill it with water at room temperature. Turn the chopped pomegranate upside down, lower it into the water and under water with your fingers separate the grains from the peel. This will allow you to completely avoid splashing the juice. Whole, unspoiled grains will sink to the bottom of the bowl. Eardrums and spoiled grains, on the contrary, will float to the surface of the water.

5

After cleaning, collect and discard the pop-up membranes and other debris. Only water and pomegranate seeds will remain in the bowl. Use a colander to filter out the water and lay the grains in a convenient container.
