Brazilian cuisine is the most unique in South America. It consists of three parts: Portuguese, African and, of course, Native American. Then Portuguese cuisine was the most unique in all of Europe, so they began to bring new food products to Brazil - butter, flour, wine. When the Portuguese became acquainted with the products of Brazil, they boldly began to experiment and improve the cooking technique. In the XVII century, the Portuguese brought slaves from Africa to Brazil to work in sugarcane fields, so Brazilian cuisine has found another branch of new recipes and, of course, products: palm, as well as coconut milk, beans, all kinds of peppers and seafood.

Local Brazilian Cuisine

The national food of Brazil is insanely spicy and at the same time salty, and this is not surprising because in hot living conditions hot peppers prevent the growth of microbes in food, and salt makes it possible to store food longer in time. Interestingly, each region of Brazil has its own special dishes. And they are not united by common food products, but by the dishes that they cook on certain days, events or holidays.

Turtle, banana and corn kernels with pieces of coconut are cooked in northern Brazil. In the northeast, cooking meat, especially dried meat, is famous. In the west of this country they love to cook dishes from alligators. In the southeast, they eat seafood.

The southern regions of Brazil are famous for a dish called shurrasco - these are pieces of beef in tomato sauce, and the most amazing thing is that it is fried in the open.

Still, there is a dish that is prepared in all parts of Brazil. This is feijoada. Feijoades are made from beans or rice with different types of meat and flour, served with orange and, of course, with pepper sauce. Only a certain drink called caipirinha - vodka of lemon and cane sugar - is necessarily brought to this delicious dish.

Pride of brazil

The pride of Brazil is to accept coffee. After all, for centuries, this country has been the largest producer of coffee on the entire planet. It is prepared according to special rules, and it is customary to drink it around the clock. Coffee is Brazil's cult because only a true Brazilian can drink 30 cups of this delicious drink.
