Bruschetta is a kind of sandwich, its basis is a slice of bread, which is pre-fried in a pan or in the oven. Bruschetta filling can be served with vegetables, cheese, sausages, ham and fresh herbs.

Crostini is a small piece of bread with a filling that should remain juicy. Usually these are traditional Italian vegetables - tomatoes and bell peppers.

Crostini with tomatoes and sweet pepper

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of white bread;

  • 200 g of fleshy tomatoes;

  • 200 g of sweet bell pepper;

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of butter;

  • dried Italian herbs;

  • salt, freshly ground pepper;

  • vegetable oil.

Cooking:

1. Rinse and dry the vegetables thoroughly, remove the stem from the tomatoes, remove the seeds and white partitions from the peppers. Cut the vegetables into a small cube and sauté in a frying pan in vegetable oil.

2. Add dried Italian herbs, freshly ground black pepper and a little salt to taste, mix and simmer the vegetables until soft, but they should retain a light crunch. Add butter. Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool slightly.

3. Dry pieces of white bread on a baking sheet in a preheated oven for several minutes or in a toaster. Put vegetables on each piece of bread, garnish with a slice of curd cheese and a basil leaf if desired. Serve immediately.

Bruschetta with tomatoes

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of baguette or ciabatta;

  • 2 large fleshy tomatoes;

  • 2 cloves of garlic;

  • 4 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil;

  • 2 tbsp. tablespoons of balsamic vinegar;

  • 1 teaspoon dried mixture of herbs;

  • salt pepper;

  • greens.

Cooking:

1. Put slices of bread on a dry (oil-free) pan and brown on both sides to make them crispy. You can also do this in a toaster. Cut the cloves of garlic in half and grate the surface of the bread.

2. Rinse the tomatoes, cut into cubes, add seasonings, dried herbs, pour in vinegar and olive oil. Immediately place the filling on warm bread, sprinkle with finely chopped greens, garnish with basil leaves and serve.
