Zebra Cake is a great idea for a festive dessert. Even ardent adherents of low-calorie diets will not be able to resist this striped delicacy with a gentle and airy dough covered with sour cream glaze and nuts.

  • For the test:

  • - 300 g sifted flour;

  • - 200 g sour cream;

  • - 4 eggs;

  • - 400 g of sugar;

  • - 100 g butter;

  • - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of cocoa powder;

  • - 250 g of peeled walnuts;

  • - 2 tbsp. baking powder spoons.
  • For glaze:

  • - 50 g sour cream;

  • - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar;

  • - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of cocoa;

  • - 70 g of butter.
  • For impregnation:

  • - 100 g of sugar;

  • - 200 g of sour cream.

First you need to knead the dough for cakes. To do this, in a separate bowl with a blender, mix 200 g of granulated sugar, 100 g of slightly softened butter and 4 eggs.

In the resulting mass add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of baking powder and 200 g of sour cream, then carefully alter all the ingredients.

When the mass becomes homogeneous, and all the sugar has dissolved, gradually add 300 g of sifted flour to it, without stopping whipping. The resulting mixture is divided into two different parts, in one of which add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of cocoa (thanks to this, the cake will acquire brown-white stripes).

We grease a deep baking dish with butter, sprinkle with a small amount of flour and alternately form future multi-colored lines. To do this, first pour a little white dough into the mold, then add a little dark dough, and then make a small speck of white dough in the center. Thus, fill the entire mixture in a baking dish.

We send the dough to bake in the oven, preheating it to a temperature of 180 degrees.

While the dough is being prepared, we proceed to the preparation of the glaze for the striped dessert. To do this, mix sour cream, sugar, cocoa and butter in a separate container until sugar crystals are completely dissolved (therefore, it is best to place the mixture in a water bath). To prepare the impregnation, mix 100 g of sugar with 200 g of granulated sugar.

We take out the finished sponge cake for the cake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, after which we cut it horizontally into two identical parts. Each cake is plentifully coated with sour cream, and on top we cover it with icing. Decorate the finished cake with chopped walnuts.
