Currently, more than 150 million people worldwide use Stevia sweeteners. Very little of it is enough to make the products sweet. And not only does it have such a small number of calories that it can simply be neglected, so some scientists also argue that it can beneficially affect blood pressure. As for blood sugar, it not only does not increase it, but supposedly even helps to lower it. It is natural that such a wonderful, seemingly, product immediately gained such enormous popularity.

But if it is not too early to rejoice, then this should be done at least with great caution. First, any product should be investigated in every possible way. And if conventional chemical sweeteners have already been included in the list of products that contribute to the oncology, then Stevia just did not have time to study until the end. Who knows, maybe in a few years there will be studies that will significantly reduce enthusiasm for this sugar substitute. While they are not there, and some caution should be exercised in terms of its consumption.

In addition, Stevia is a natural preparation. From the point of view of benefits, this may be good, but one should not forget about allergies, whose body can react quite violently to a hitherto unknown ingredient in a sweet or drink.

And, if the potential carcinogenicity and allergicness seem far-fetched, the fact that the Indians used Stevia as a means of protection for men is quite fixed in historical documents.
