You will need

  • - 200 g of wheat flour

  • - 50 ml of vegetable oil

  • - 2 g of vanillin

  • - 1/2 tsp salt

  • - 1 tsp baking soda

  • - 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • - 2 tbsp sugar plus 2 more tablespoons sugar for sprinkling

  • - 4 - 6 tbsp water

  • - 6 apples

Instruction manual

1

The original recipe for French apple tart contains butter, which can easily be replaced with vegetable oil. Also for the preparation of tarte in the original recipe added egg yolk. We simply exclude it, and to make the dough yellow, add a quarter of a teaspoon of ground turmeric, but this is not necessary, because after the baking is ready, the color of the dough will be pale brown regardless of whether turmeric was added or not.

2

Mix wheat flour with salt, soda, vanilla, turmeric and sugar. Pour the vegetable oil into the mixture, mix and gradually, stirring, pour very cold water on a spoon. The dough should not crumble and exfoliate, it should be moderately fat and in no case should it spread. Knead the dough well and leave it on the table under a bowl for half an hour.

3

In the meantime, wash and dry the apples, peel and core and cut into thin slices.

Roll out the finished dough thinly in a circle. The thickness of the formation will be approximately 2-3 mm. Attention: the number of products is focused on a round shape with a diameter of 24-26 centimeters. Put the dough in the mold, form the sides, press the dough with your hands along the bottom of the mold.

4

Put apples on top of the dough. Sprinkle sugar on top. Put in a hot oven heated to 200-220 degrees.

Bake depending on the variety of apples, from 40 minutes. Apples should become soft.

Cool the finished tart, transfer to a dish, cut into portions and serve with tea.
