Then take onions and garlic, peel and chop at random. Put the vegetables on the bottom of the baking dish, add the same bay leaf and put a piece of beef on top.

Add salt and pepper to taste, cover the mold with a lid or foil. Make sure that the foil tightly covers the edges of the form. Put the meat in an oven preheated to 160 ° C, after half an hour lower the temperature to 150 ° C and leave the dish to bake for about another hour and a half. If you want to get a delicious crust on meat, half an hour before readiness, open the foil.

Oven beef with potatoes

You can also diversify the dish and bake beef with a side dish - potatoes:

- beef - 400 g;

- potatoes - 5-6 pcs.;

- carrots - 1 pc.;

- onions - 1 pc.;

- tomato ketchup - 3 tbsp;

- sour cream - 200 ml;

- vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.;

- greens of dill and parsley - to taste;

- canned corn - to taste;

- salt - to taste;

- pepper - to taste.

To begin, rinse a piece of meat under running water and pat dry with a towel, then cut into portions. Peel the onion, rinse and chop finely. Peel the potatoes, rinse and cut into cubes, slices or straws. Rub the washed and peeled carrots on a coarse grater or cut into strips.

Take a baking dish or a deep baking sheet and oil. Put the meat, salt and pepper. Place potatoes smeared with ketchup on top. Then lay out a layer of onions and carrots.
