Macadamia nut is similar in appearance and taste to hazelnuts, but surpasses it in the content of nutrients. The cost is also higher, since it is difficult to grow it: the tree begins to yield 8-10 years after planting, and the interval between flowering and full ripening of nuts is 6-7 months.

Macadamia is a component of meat, fish and vegetable dishes, for which small, chopped nuts are used. Large ones are served as a dessert in fried and caramel-drenched form. Instead of a whole product, oil squeezed out of it can also be used - it has a delicate taste and is suitable as a dressing in any food, giving it an elegant shade.

Macadamia can be consumed fresh. To improve the taste, it is salted and served with coffee.

The nut calorie content is high and amounts to 718 kcal per 100 g, but you should not be afraid of such a large figure, because to get a daily dose of nutrients it is not necessary to eat this amount, just season one of them with it. The fat contained in the product is ¾ of the total volume, but due to its plant origin, it not only does no harm, but also is an indispensable biological supplement for people with high cholesterol and prone to atherosclerosis. It is even more effective than the proven olive and linseed oil. The use of macadamia to a reasonable extent helps to improve the permeability of blood vessels and strengthen their walls.

Dishes, of which macadamia is a component, should not be given to dogs, as this nut is poisonous to them and can cause their long-term weakness and poor health.

Macadamia contains large quantities of vitamins, macro- and microelements that perform important functions in the body. The leader in quantity (2.5 mg) is niacin, also referred to as B3 or PP. A nutritionist, he is known as nicotinic acid. Like vitamin C (which is also contained in this product - 1.2 mg), niacin is considered to be the most powerful tool in the fight against a number of diseases. It participates in metabolic processes, affects the composition of the blood and its current. As the main active ingredient in oils and creams, nicotinic acid is indispensable for maintaining normal skin condition. Niacin is part of a set of preventive measures used for stable disorders of the emotional state: depression, stress and some mental illnesses.

A lack of vitamin B1 leads to a deterioration in the functioning of the muscle system, including the heart and digestive tract, as well as a decrease in nerve impulse. In addition, he is a participant in hematopoiesis and slows down the aging process, especially in the presence of negative factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption. Its content in macadamia is 1.2 mg.

Other useful substances (vitamins B2, B5, B6, B9, E), as well as macro- and microelements (potassium and magnesium, calcium and phosphorus, sodium, zinc, iron, manganese, copper, selenium) are available in macadamia in an amount sufficient with regular use to stabilize the metabolism, growth and development of the right cells (while cancer cells are suppressed), improve the condition of the skin and hair and normal functioning of all organs and systems of the human body.
