The amount and quality of alcohol consumed is not always the cause of poor health. Strange as it may seem, a snack served with alcohol can also serve as a cause of ailments.

Carbonated drinks
Most people are used to drinking spirits with mineral water or sweet soda. However, this is strictly prohibited. Carbon dioxide contained in these drinks irritates the gastric mucosa, causing accelerated absorption of alcohol. People who drink a lot of soda during a feast are more likely than others to suffer from a severe hangover.
Caffeinated drinks
Any drinks containing caffeine also have no place on a festive feast. Alcohol, washed down with a caffeinated drink, provokes a spasm of cerebral vessels, an increase in blood pressure, arrhythmia, and in some cases even convulsions.
Fresh tomatoes
Tomatoes, used as snacks, lead to digestive problems, bloating and flatulence. However, tomato juice does not cause such problems.
Pickled vegetables
It is hard to imagine a festive feast without traditional pickled vegetables. But not everyone knows that acetic acid, contained in pickles, in combination with alcohol, causes an increased load on the kidneys and liver.
Chocolate
Chocolate consumed at the same time as spirits adversely affects the pancreas. And subsequently, acute abdominal pain, cramping, disruption of the digestive tract, up to pancreatitis.
The ideal appetizer, oddly enough, is vinaigrette. Potato is a natural adsorbent that takes part of unnecessary toxins. Beets, carrots and pickles are sources of trace elements, and sauerkraut contains succinic acid, which reduces the appearance of a hangover.
