Coffee brewed in a French press has a rich rich taste. While drip coffee maker filters absorb part of the oil from the beans, which means they deplete the taste and aroma of the drink, the French press allows you to enjoy the full range of sensations. French presses or coffee presses are made of glass, steel and plastic, of various sizes and various modifications. All you need to make a cup of excellent coffee is freshly ground beans, hot filtered water and a French press.

    • Coffee grinder
    • French press

Instruction manual

1

Fill the kettle with filtered water and put on fire. Always boil water shortly before you start brewing coffee. The boiling water should cool slightly before you begin the process.

2

Pour hot water into a French press to warm the glass flask.

3

Grind coffee beans. The grinding should be medium or coarse, but not finer. For starters, try brewing one tablespoon in five milliliters of water. In the future, you can adjust the strength of the tea to your liking.

4

Drain the coffee press and place the required amount of ground coffee on the bottom. Add hot water from the kettle. Make sure that at least a couple of centimeters remain from the edges of the flask to the water.

5

Slowly mix water and coffee with a spoon or wooden stick.

6

Cover the flask with a piston cap and leave it on top of the press. Let the coffee brew for at least three to five minutes. The longer you make coffee, the stronger it will be.

7

Slowly and evenly as possible lower the plunger down. If you make excessive efforts or do it abruptly, coffee grounds can get into the drink.

8

Pour coffee into a cup, if you allow it to be further in the French press, it will continue to brew and, in the end, may become too bitter.

9

Wash the flask and strainer manually. Do it right after you drink your coffee to remove oils and grounds and the next time you get the same fresh and clean coffee.

Useful advice

In the French press, you can make coffee with various additives - cinnamon, anise, cardamom, but you should not add sugar, honey, sweet syrups to the flask.
