For pies made of yeast dough, a round or oval shape is more suitable. The first is the easiest to do - to do this, roll the dough into a not too thin sausage and divide it into identical balls. Flatten each with your palm to make a tortilla. Put the filling in its middle, and then collect the edges of the tortilla to the center, folding a pie like a bag. Then slightly flatten the knot created on top of the pie with your palm so that it does not stick out.

To make an oval shape, put the filling also on the center of the cake, then connect its opposite edges in the center so that in the middle of the cake you get a kind of seam. Putting such pies on a baking sheet can be as a seam up, and on it.

It is better to make pies for frying in the form of dumplings - for this you need to pick up the cake, then put the filling in it, and then pinch two opposite edges so that the seam turns out on one side.

Puff pastry cakes can be made in the shape of a square or a triangle. To make square pies, roll the dough into a layer 5-8 mm thick and cut it into squares of the same size. Then put the filling in the center of each and fold the edges so that you get an envelope. Pinch the seams created as a result of such manipulations. To make triangular pies, put the filling inside the square, then simply connect the two opposite edges and pinch.

Fry the prepared pies in vegetable oil in a pan or put on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil and bake in the oven. In the latter case, they can be preliminarily greased with a beaten egg - then the crust will turn out to be more rosy. And you can sprinkle the finished sweet cakes with powdered sugar, but you need to do this while they are still hot.
