By the way, for freezing, choose the sweet and sour fruits of apples: Kutuzovets, Simirenko, Antonovka, Aport, Honey, Arianna and many others.

First, wash the apples, peel them and remove the core along with the seeds. After that, cut the apples into slices 3-4 mm wide. You can also cut them into circles. It will be much more convenient for you to store apples if all the slices are the same size. After the slicing is complete, dip the apples in cold water so that they do not darken. Keep them in the water for no more than 20 minutes. Dissolve salt in the same water: 10-15 grams per liter of water. And be sure to add citric acid: 5 grams per liter of water.

Remove the apples from the water, dry them with a paper towel, lay them on a tray and place in the freezer. Once the apples are half frozen, remove them from the freezer and separate the frozen slices from each other. Put the apples on the tray again and place them in the freezer: this time until they are completely frozen.

After that, pull out the tray, put the frozen slices in plastic bags and determine for them a permanent place in the freezer. Try not to pack bags to the very top so that apples can fit on any shelf in the freezer. In addition, tie bags with slices so that they do not leave air.

Use frozen apples when baking muffins, pies, cakes, puffs and other pastries. Also add apples to cereals, compotes and desserts. During cooking, you do not need to defrost the slices, you can put them in the cake frozen. This will save not only vitamins and minerals in apples, but also their excellent taste. To taste, frozen apples are very similar to baked ones.

Shelf life of apples in the freezer depends on the selected temperature. So, at a temperature of -10-12 ° C, you can store fruits from one to two months. At lower temperatures, the shelf life can be 8-10 months.
