The healing properties of oats have long been known. The content of proteins, fats and carbohydrates in oats is balanced. In addition, they are rich in vitamins and minerals. Dishes from this cereal are usually recommended for patients with diabetes mellitus, since oat starch, unlike potato starch, does not cause a sharp increase in blood sugar. The broth is an excellent restorative tool, and with many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract it is simply irreplaceable.

Instruction manual

1

There are a lot of recipes for making oat broth. Flakes that you can freely buy at any grocery store in this case will not work. Find whole grains. For some recipes, they can be germinated beforehand.

2

Pour 2 cups of grains into a small enameled pan. Pour them with one glass of cold water. Place the pan in a warm, but not hot place for about 12 hours, so that the grains begin to swell.

3

Place the pot behind the soaked grains on the stove. Make a slow fire. Bring the contents of the saucepan to a boil, cover and let simmer for an hour and a half. Add water periodically so that oats grains are constantly flooded.

4

Remove the pan from the heat. Lay out the grains, but do not drain the water. Rub the oats through a sieve or chop in another convenient way. Put the resulting mass back into the pan, mix and put on low heat again. Boil it for a while, stirring occasionally. The contents of the pan should look like jelly. After this, cool the broth and drink 2-3 times a day.

5

A decoction of germinated grains is prepared in a similar way, only there will be more liquid at the very beginning. Take 1 part of water for 1 part of oats. Let the grains swell in the same way as in the previous case, put the saucepan on a slow fire and bring to a boil. Remove the lid. So that the water evaporates. It will take about two hours. The volume of water in this procedure is approximately halved. After this, strain the broth through a doubled cheesecloth or through a sieve and refrigerate on one of the lower shelves.

6

As an anti-cold remedy, oat broth with honey is very good. Boil 1 liter of water. Pour the peeled grains laid out in an enameled pan. Put the open pan on the burner, making a slow fire. In this case, the water should also evaporate. When the amount of liquid decreases about three times - the broth is ready. Remove it from the heat, strain through cheesecloth, cool slightly and add 1-2 teaspoons of honey.

7

Oat broth with honey can be prepared in another way. Pour the grains with cold water in the ratio of 1 cup of grains to 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil, cover the pan with a lid and lower the heat to a minimum. Boil for about half an hour. Then drain the broth along with the grains into a thermos and leave it alone for a day. Then strain and boil again. Cool slightly and add a couple of teaspoons of honey.

note

It is better to add honey after you boil and cool the broth a little. If you add it before boiling, it will not affect the taste, but honey loses part of its useful properties when heated.
