Italian cuisine is a storehouse of original and delicious recipes. Peppermint panna cotta is an Italian dessert, in which the main ingredients are fat cream and gelatin. In general, the classic panna cotta is white, but it can be varied and add mint or any other coloring sauce or cocoa.

You will need

  • - cream 20% - 400 ml

  • - milk - 200 ml

  • - gelatin - 10 g

  • - mint - 100 g

  • - half a lemon

  • - sugar - 70 g

  • - berries

Soak gelatin in cold water according to package instructions.

Pour cream and milk into a saucepan, bring to a boil and set aside.

Rinse the mint in cold water and let it dry.

Grind half the whole mint in a blender, and simply chop the remaining half finely. Sprinkle chopped mint with lemon juice.

Grate lemon zest on a fine grater.

Add whole mint and lemon zest to milk with cream, mix and add sugar. Put on low heat for 5 minutes. Sugar should completely dissolve, but it is important not to let the liquid boil. Then remove from heat and let stand for 20 minutes under a closed lid.

Add pre-squeezed gelatin from excess water into the mixture.

Pour the mixture into molds or glasses and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Take an almost ready dessert from the refrigerator and put a mint leaf on top and decorate with berries. If desired, you can make a sauce of the same berries and pour on top. Refrigerate for another 2-3 hours.

Useful advice

To get the panna cotta out of the mold and not damage it, you need to turn the mold on a plate and cover with a hot towel so that the dessert moves away from the walls of the mold.
