Instruction manual

1

Take a glass container and pour the right amount of oil into it. A glass cup or jar up to half a liter is suitable. Pour so much oil that it fills no more than half of the tank. If you need a very small amount, which will be enough for just one use, you can use a regular glass of 250 ml for a water bath, filling it halfway.

2

Place a container of oil in a pan. Then pour the amount of water in the pan so that its level is slightly higher than the oil level (at least 3-5 cm). Please note that the larger the oil container, the higher the water level should be relative to the oil level. It is not necessary to cover the pan with a lid.

3

Put the pot on the fire and bring the water to a boil, and then reduce the heat slightly. The time during which the sunflower oil will warm up in a water bath depends on the amount of oil. For example, if you use a container with a volume of about 500 ml half filled with oil, it should be boiled for about 25-30 minutes. If you took a small jar or an ordinary mug with a volume of 250 ml, then keep the oil on fire after the water boils, it should be no more than 10-15 minutes.

4

While boiling, stir the oil with a wooden spoon. Please note: sunflower oil will not boil, as it has a too thick consistency for this. Warming up in a water bath in itself makes the oil sterile and does not require boiling. However, if you boil the oil for too long, it may become too hot and ignite. Therefore, carefully monitor the time: keep sunflower oil in a water bath should be no more than 20-30 minutes from the moment of boiling water.

5

Cool the boiled oil a little, without removing it from the pan, and then cover the pan with a lid and leave to cool completely. Typically, the oil is almost completely cooled in 30–40 minutes. After this time, pour the oil into a container from which it will be convenient to pour it. If you plan to use boiled sunflower oil several times, take a sterilized jar with a tight-fitting lid for storage. But it should be noted that sterilized sunflower oil should not be stored for longer than a day. It is better to use it immediately, and boil new portions of oil as necessary.
