You will need

  • - apples - 2 kg;

  • - sugar - 2 kg;

  • - peeled almonds - 2 tablespoons;

  • - grated zest of 3 lemons;

  • - ginger root - 2 cm.

With apples, do this: peel and cut into slices, after removing the core. Ginger root should be finely chopped.

Take a saucepan, place sliced ​​apple slices in it and cover them with sugar. Then put chopped ginger on apples and do the same, that is, pour sugar on top. In other words, these products must be layered. In this state, leave them for 6 hours.

After the required amount of time has passed, fill the mixture with 400 milliliters of water and put on fire. When it boils, cook it for another 5 minutes over low heat. Let the mass brew for 10-12 hours.

After the time has passed, bring the jam to a boil again and cook another 15 minutes. When it is about 5 minutes before it is ready, add the lemon zest to it.

Grind the peeled almonds and fry them in a frying pan without oil for 3 minutes. Then add it to the jam and mix everything thoroughly. It remains to lay the mass in jars and close them tightly. Almond apple jam is done!
