Squid - seafood with which you can make different dishes. It can be boiled and cut into a salad. Fry in a pan or grill, stew, marinate, dry. Squids can even be turned into minced meat for cutlets. However, first you need to clean the squid. This is a momentary but important matter.

Put the squid in a colander. Rinse thoroughly under cold water.

Use a knife to scrape the reddish film off the squid. Pull the film from the torso bag.

If you bought not a ready-made squid fillet, but a whole carcass, take tentacles with your fingers from the body bag. Pull for them: pull out the entrails and the head with them. Cut the tentacles before your eyes.

Take the transparent cartilage arrow with your hands and pull it out. Throw away.

Rinse the squid carcass well again under cold water. Cut the squid carcass into rings.

If you buy squid by weight, squid carcasses should be well separated from each other. Otherwise, squids were thawed and re-frozen, which is bad.
Useful advice
You need to be able to buy squids correctly. They must be frozen. The meat under the squid film must be white (the color of the film itself can be gray-pink to purple and depend on the age and habitat of the squid).
Often, squid rings are rolled in flour and baked in deep fat. This is a great appetizer.
