The need for the storage of expressed milk can arise in any mother, even one who has never been separated from her baby and has successfully fed him from her breast. In the first months of feeding, her milk is produced in very large quantities, and it would be nice if she can put aside at least some reserve in case of a future departure, illness or any other extraordinary situation.

The method of storing milk depends on the time of intended use. If you plan to store milk for a very long time, it is better to freeze it. There are special packages for freezing milk on sale, but it's okay if you do not have them. Any clean plastic bag with the ability to tightly tie or fasten it will do. Insert the bag into a jar, you can use a regular mug, but it is better to take a small square container. Frozen milk cubes take up less space in the freezer.

Just pour the expressed milk into a bag, and after freezing, take out the frozen briquette and put it deep into the freezer. In order for milk to be stored for a long time and not lose its properties, the temperature should always be kept at -18 ° C.

But if you plan to feed your baby with expressed milk for one day, then you do not need to do anything supernatural for storage. Fresh milk can be stored at 25 ° C for 4 hours without any consequences. The main condition for this is the cleanliness of the dishes in which it is poured.

And at a temperature of 20 ° C it will last for all 10 hours, so do not rush to put the bottle in the refrigerator immediately after decantation. Only if milk needs to be stored for 10-20 hours or a little longer, you will have to put it in the refrigerator. Strong cooling and warming will harm the milk much more than being at room temperature. Therefore, always proceed from the situation and choose storage conditions that will maximize the beneficial properties of breast milk.
