Polyester must be washed at a water temperature of no higher than 40 °, manually or in a washing machine. Wrinkles and wrinkles form on the material from hotter water, which must be removed.

In order to tidy up the wrinkled polyester, use an iron with a regulator. Among modern irons, it is very difficult to find one on which you cannot set the desired temperature. But since the old primitive irons practically do not fail, it is likely that you have it, and even someone from your home uses it. An antique iron is suitable in this case, but not very convenient.

Dip the product in a bowl of cold water. Let it dry a little. Remember that polyester dries very quickly. The fabric should remain a little damp. If the thing is relatively new, you might well have left a patch that was attached to it. It makes sense to save such shreds, because you can conduct experiments on them without fear of damaging the garment. In this case, you need to experiment a little with the temperature of the iron. It should be slightly higher than the one in which you usually iron clothes made of synthetic fabrics.

For shriveled polyester, set the same temperature as for silk. In this position, the regulator can be ironed quite calmly, without fear that the fabric will melt. However, wrinkles may not be smoothed out at this temperature. Turn the knob slightly. Try to iron a shred. If it is not, then iron some inconspicuous place on the product itself. This could be, for example, a hem, the inside of the cuff or the bottom of the turndown collar. As a rule, folds at a slightly higher than usual temperature are perfectly smoothed. It is recommended to iron through a thin cloth, such as gauze.

The need to iron the product may also arise if you want it to look especially elegant. For example, you are going to a ball. Well-ironed clothing not only looks good, but also creates a mood. No special tricks need to be applied. Put the regulator in silk mode and iron the product through a layer of gauze.

If, nevertheless, an antique iron is at your disposal, then you will have to iron it with your grandmother's method. Heat the iron Try it on a shred and turn it off. It cools down not very quickly, so you will have time to iron the synthetic product. Iron it on the front side through a cotton cloth.
