Puff pastry is an excellent base for cakes, pastries, cookies, pies and other types of baking. You can make the dough yourself, although the process is very time-consuming and requires a number of rules. If you don’t have time for a long process, buy ready-made frozen dough, the baked goods will still turn out to be very tasty.

Danish puff from homemade dough

Make homemade cakes with tender toppings. The dough can be made in advance, and then freeze.

You will need:

- 225 g of wheat flour;

- 150 g butter;

- 7 g of instant dry yeast;

- a pinch of salt;

- 1 egg;

- 25 g of sugar;

- 30 g margarine.

For filling:

- 5 apples;

- 100 g of sugar;

- 50 g of butter;

- a pinch of ground cloves;

- 1 egg for lubrication.

Sift the flour, mash it with margarine, add dry yeast and salt. Beat the egg lightly, mix it with 4 tbsp. tablespoons of water and sugar. Add the egg mixture to the flour, knead the dough and leave it for 15 minutes at room temperature.

Put the oil between 2 sheets of cellophane and a rolling pin, roll it into a square layer 12 mm thick. Roll out the dough in a square, place a block of butter in the center, and then wrap it, connecting 2 opposite sides. Fold the remaining edges in the same way. Roll out the resulting bundle so that the length of the formation is three times the width.

Fold the dough three times - the folded side should be on the left. Repeat the rolling and folding process 3 times. If the oil starts to leak, wrap the dough in foil and put it in the cold, and after an hour continue rolling.

Prepare the filling. Peel apples, cut into slices and fry in butter with sugar until soft. Add a pinch of ground cloves, mix and cool.

Roll the dough onto a floured dusted board. Cut it into squares, put apple filling on each and fasten the puffs by bending two opposite corners. The other two sides must remain open. Put the puffs on a baking sheet, lightly grease with a beaten egg and bake for 15 minutes in the oven, heated to 220 ° C.
