You will need

  • For cookies (for 20-30 pieces):

  • - 200 g of flour;

  • - 1/2 lemon;

  • - 25 g of starch;

  • - 50 g of powdered sugar;

  • - 100 g butter;

  • - candy caramels multi-colored (with different tastes).

Instruction manual

1

Make the dough. Sift flour and starch into a large bowl. Cut the butter into cubes, mix with the flour mixture and rub it into small crumbs with your fingers.

2

Grate the zest with half a lemon with a fine grater and make lemon juice. Add lemon zest to the creamy flour mass, pour in powdered sugar, pour 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until uniform.

3

The dough should be soft with a smooth surface, but dense enough to be rolled out. If the dough is tight, then add a little lemon juice, if too soft - put in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

4

Sprinkle lightly flour on the work surface and roll the dough into a 5 mm thick layer. Cut the stars out of the dough using large notch molds. Use a spatula knife to place cookies on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.

5

Cut out the middle of the stars with small molds. Take out the neatly cut center and collect all the scraps of dough for subsequent rolling to the next batch of stars. Bake cookies in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 4 minutes.

After taking the pastries from the oven, put a candy caramel in the center of each product. If the holes in the sprockets are very large, then use two candies each. Put the baking sheet in the oven again and bake for another 6-7 minutes, until it is light golden in color and the caramels melt and fill the holes.

Make sure that the products are not overcooked and the tips of the beams are not burnt. Remove paper from completely cooled sprockets.
