Borago is a cucumber herb; young leaves are more often used in cooking. But the stems can be used, they are no less tasty, give the dishes an original taste. Borago stalks only need to be cleaned and boiled, otherwise they are stiff. In salads, you will definitely like this unobtrusive onion-cucumber note.

You will need

  • - 6 long stems of borago;

  • - 200 g salad mix;

  • - 200 g of boiled ham;

  • - 50 g of parmesan;

  • - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of olive oil;

  • - 1 tbsp. a spoon of balsamic white vinegar;

  • - 1 teaspoon of dried ground herbs;

  • - black pepper, salt.

Peel the borago stalks, remove the top dark green peel. Cut each stalk into four parts, fill with boiling water, put on a stove. After boiling, reduce the heat, cook the stems for about fifteen minutes, until they are soft. Throw the borago into a colander, cut into strips.

Straw the ham. Rinse lettuce leaves, dry, tear with your hands.

Mix salad, ham, borago, arrange on plates.

Prepare a salad dressing. To do this, mix vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Whisk a little.

Pour salad dressing, sprinkle with thin slices of parmesan, sprinkle with a mixture of dry herbs.
