Cabbage rolls originally appeared in the Turkish culinary tradition, and then the dish became popular in Ukrainian, Belarusian and Lithuanian cuisine. Each housewife knows the recipe for traditional cabbage rolls, but meat wrapped in cabbage leaves can be cooked under the original "fur coat".

  • Minced meat (130 g);

Take the cabbage, carefully inspect the head of cabbage. Remove wilted and damaged leaves, and then put the head in the microwave for a few minutes. After such a heat treatment, it will be easier for you to separate the cabbage leaves.

Grind onions, carrots in advance and boil the rice over low heat. Mix cooled ingredients with minced meat, salt. You should get a homogeneous mass, which will serve as a filling for stuffed cabbage.

Separately, prepare a "fur coat". To do this, grate the cheese and chop the tomatoes finely, and then add the garlic, mayonnaise and oregano. Get in the way. "Fur coat" should be of medium density, so that it is more convenient for you to distribute the mass on the baking sheet.

Take a cabbage leaf, flatten on a cutting board. Put the stuffing on the edge of the sheet, wrap it once, and then close it on the sides. Next, scroll over the stuffing on a leaf of cabbage. Lubricate the baking sheet with oil and lay the cabbage rolls so that the edge of the cabbage leaf is on the underside. So cabbage rolls will not fall apart when cooking.

Fill the “coat” evenly from above and put in the oven. When you feel the pleasant smell of meat, you can pull out the dish.

Useful advice

If you want the dish to be less high in calories, then it is worth replacing mayonnaise with light sour cream. Also, cabbage rolls will be more tender in the case of using Chinese cabbage.
