Omelet is one of the simplest and cheapest dishes. A beaten egg with milk is especially popular with athletes and people with an active lifestyle. Thanks to the proteins and carbohydrates contained in it, a small portion of the dish is enough to maintain strength throughout the day.
This omelet perfectly diversifies your regular menu; it is good both in winter and in summer. Denver omelet is a delicious omelet with cheese, onions, ham and sweet pepper.
For 4 servings you will need:
- onion - 1 pc.
- green bell pepper - 1 pc.
- red bell pepper - 1 pc.
- ham - 200 g
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- eggs - 8 pcs.
- milk - 1/2 cup
- 200 g hard cheese
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Cooking method:
- First, make a gas station. We clean the onions and sweet peppers, cut into small cubes.
- In a small saucepan, mix the butter and vegetable oil, heat until the butter dissolves. Pour onion and pepper there, salt and cook for three minutes with constant stirring.
- We cut the ham into small cubes and add to the stewpan to the vegetables. Passing another 3 minutes. Remove from the heat, while the gas station cools down, take care of the omelette itself.
- At this time, beat the eggs well (until white foam) and pour in the milk, whip again by adding salt and pepper.
- Turn on the oven 200 degrees.
- Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, then add to the bowl with beaten eggs and milk. There we add pepper with onions and ham and mix thoroughly.
- With vegetable oil, grease the baking dish. Tip: if you want the Denver omelette to be magnificent, it is better to use a small but deep form.
- In an oven preheated to 200 degrees, put the form with an omelet. Bake until cooked, about 20-25 minutes.
- We take out the finished omelet from the oven and cover with a towel. Let stand for another 10 minutes at room temperature.
The Denver omelet in the oven is ready. Serve for breakfast, afternoon snack or dinner.
