One of the favorite dishes from childhood is grandmother's dumplings. Children love to sit in the kitchen and watch the preparation of unusual dishes, as always seems in childhood. Of course, there is nothing complicated in the recipe for making dumplings. But these memories of a magic pigtail, which my grandmother so cleverly plaited on dumplings, seem simply fabulous.

Pick your recipe

You will need

    • flour - 3.5 cups
    • soda - half a teaspoon
    • water - 2 glasses
    • butter - 50 grams
    • eggs - 2 pcs.

Instruction manual

1

Make a batter. Pour flour, salt into a deep bowl and pour boiling water, stirring intensively with a spoon so that the flour does not boil.

2

Add melted butter and eggs. Continue to knead the dough with a spoon until smooth.

3

Pour a little flour onto the board, lay out the dough and continue to knead with your hands on the board, adding a couple more tablespoons of flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands. You should have a completely soft dough.

4

Cover it with a plate and let it rest for an hour.

5

Make the filling as you wish. It can be dumplings with cottage cheese, with sauerkraut, with potatoes.

6

Then roll the flagella, cut into pieces and roll the cakes.

7

And so the most crucial moment is sculpting dumplings. Fold the tortilla in half. Then knead one end a little more and wrap it. The edge that has formed is again tucked, and so on to the end.

Useful advice

At first, things will go slowly, and the spikelet may not be very neat. But over time it will turn out faster and smoother.
