Chokeberry is a storehouse of vitamins and minerals. It has an unusual taste and its usefulness is difficult to exaggerate. And also from this beautiful berry it is very easy to make an excellent compote.

For 3 liters of compote you will need:

  • Approximately 1/2 liter of ripe aronia berries

  • Approximately 1/2 liter of sugar

  • Normal water - approximately 2.5-3 liters

  • A can and a special iron lid, as well as a seaming machine

Cooking compote:

1. Fresh and ripe berries of Chokeberry must be washed.

2. The washed rowan berries are placed in the prepared jar.

3. We put boiling water over high heat.

4. Pour the berries in a jar with boiling water, cover and let stand for 5 or 6 minutes.

5. Then pour the water back into the pan, add sugar, mix well and bring to a boil again.

6. Pour boiling berries of chokeberry with sweet boiling water (water should reach the neck of the jar).

7. Roll the stewed fruit with a metal lid and remove the wrapped jar to cool (upside down).

Once the jar has cooled to the end, a tasty and healthy mountain ash compote will be ready. It has a beautiful color and tart taste that will delight you in the winter.
