Corn is a very tasty and healthy product for adults and children. It must be consumed at any time of the year, and doctors recommend it to people who suffer from various diseases (diabetes, obesity, etc.). But not everyone knows how to cook corn so that it becomes soft and does not lose its beneficial properties.

You will need

    • ears of corn;
    • pan;
    • salt or butter to taste.

Instruction manual

1

Prepare the corn for cooking. Peel the leaves and fibers of the cob and place in the pan. But some people prefer to cook corn together with leaves, as they retain the taste and aroma of the product. If you are one of them, then clean the cobs of unnecessary "impurities", and put the leaves and "antennae" to cook separately (in the same pan).

2

Choose cooking utensils with thick walls, and so that it is wide and deep so that the fruits do not break. Lay the leaves down the dishes, and carefully peeled ears on top of them. Also, place the leaves on the sides of the container (so that the corn does not touch the walls), and put the "antennae" on top to give the ears a sweeter taste and aroma.

If you have a pressure cooker, the cooking process will speed up significantly and make the wait less tiring.

3

Pour the corn completely with cold water so that it covers all of it. Close the pan tightly. Put on fire, and after boiling, reduce it to medium or small sizes. Typically, corn is cooked for about 40 minutes, but there are varieties that have to be cooked up to 3-4 hours.

When you cook, then check the cobs for softness (readiness) and make sure that the water always completely covers them. And even at low heat, the water should boil.

4

You do not need to salt the corn, especially if you are cooking a dessert variety. Due to the presence of salt, the ears in the end are not quite tasty and juicy.

Keep an eye on the cooking process. Try hardness of the grains using a fork, and if they become soft, you can finish the cooking. Next, remove the cobs from the container in which they cooked, drain the remaining water from the corn and clean it of leaves (if cooked unpeeled). Grate with salt, if desired, butter and eat still hot queen of the fields.

5

If you wanted to eat corn, and it’s not the season for this, then buy frozen ears in the store.

Dip the corn in boiling water and cook until it is soft. After boiling the water again, cook the cobs for another 25 minutes, and then remove, grease with oil and salt (or other spices) and serve.

note

You can store cooked corn in the refrigerator for two days.
