Instruction manual

1

Select strong, young mushrooms without wormholes with light coloring of the tubular part of the hat for drying. Scrape off the ground, needles, and other forest waste with a knife. Mushrooms intended for drying should not be washed.

2

Cut the mushrooms with the legs into plates no thicker than a centimeter or a half centimeters. It is sometimes recommended to remove the very bottom of the leg before cutting. If you come across small mushrooms up to five centimeters high, dry them whole.

3

Inspect the mushrooms during the slicing process. It often turns out that a boletus with a clean leg has a worm hat. In this case, dry only the leg.

4

Boletus mushrooms, even with a small number of mushroom worms, are not suitable for drying, but they can still be put into action, after having soaked for half an hour in salt water. Such mushrooms can be fried or cook soup from them.

5

If the weather is dry, sunny, mushrooms can be dried outdoors. To do this, string the prepared mushrooms on a thick thread or fishing line and hang in a well-lit place, covered with gauze from insects. At night, such drops of mushrooms will have to be cleaned into the house. The whole drying process can take about a week.

6

Mushrooms, like fruits, can be dried in the oven. Lay thick paper on a baking sheet and lay on it a loose layer of clean wooden sticks about a centimeter in diameter, chopped from dry wood without resin. Put chopped mushrooms in one layer on top of the chopsticks.

7

It is best to carry out drying in two steps. Place the baking tray with the mushrooms in the oven, heated to fifty degrees. The oven door must be ajar. After three hours of such processing, remove the pan and let the mushrooms cool.

8

The second stage of drying is carried out at a temperature of no higher than seventy degrees with the oven door open.

9

If you dried mushrooms on the street, but the weather turned bad, dry them in the oven, heated to fifty degrees.

10

A well-dried mushroom can be broken without effort, it should be light and slightly bent, but not crumble. Mushrooms should be stored in glass jars with lids. You can keep mushrooms in bags in a cool and dry room.
