You will need

    • sprat (1 kg);
    • salt (3 tablespoons);
    • black pepper (peas) - 4-5 pcs;
    • cloves (in buds) - 4-5 pieces;
    • ginger (ground; a small pinch);
    • bay leaf (3-4 pcs.).

Take a cup of water, dip the fish into it and rinse thoroughly.

Cut the sprat. Remove the head and entrails.

Rinse the cut fish again. Let the water drain.

Take the spices, grind them not very finely. Mix spices with salt.

Sprinkle sprats with salting mixture. Shuffle the sprat from bottom to top.

Take the enameled bowl and transfer the fish to it.

Cover the sprat with a plate. Put a light load on top. Take away in the refrigerator for a while.

Remove the cooked salted sprat after 12 hours. The fish is ready!

note

A glass jar or other narrow dishes should not be used - the sprat is wrinkled in it, it is salted out unevenly and quickly deteriorates.
