This recipe is dedicated to all lovers of the cuisine of the Land of the Rising Sun, all those who are addicted to such a traditional Japanese dish as sushi.

The process of preparing this cold appetizer, at first glance, is quite simple. But the catch can lie in wait at the final stage - twisting and dense shaping with the help of a special bamboo mat “Makis”. Therefore, for those who do not yet have sufficient ability to roll and cut sushi, a delicious alternative is a delicious puff sushi cake.

You will need

  • - 120 gr. rice (preferably special for sushi)

  • - 4 tbsp. tablespoons rice vinegar

  • - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt

  • - 2-4 nori leaves

  • - 500 gr. fresh (or slightly salted) salmon

  • - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of soy sauce

  • - 1-2 fresh cucumbers

  • - 1 avocado

  • - 4 tbsp. spoons of sesame seeds

  • The ingredients are designed for 6-7 servings.

120 gr. soak rice (preferably specially designed for making sushi) in cold water for 1 hour. In the meantime, we are preparing a gas station: we take 4 tbsp. tablespoons of rice vinegar, heat, then dissolve in it 2 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt. Leave to cool.

We discard the rice on a sieve or colander, let it dry and after 20 minutes you can start cooking it. Boil rice in 350 ml. water, cook over high heat for 5 minutes under the lid. Then reduce the heat to a minimum and cook another 5 minutes. Turn off the stove, leave it under the lid for another 10 minutes. Add the previously prepared vinegar and mix. While the rice is cooling, we prepare products for the layers of our cake.

500 gr. cut fresh or slightly salted salmon into small pieces. Mix with 4 tbsp. tablespoons of sesame seeds and 2-3 tbsp. spoons of soy sauce. We clean for a while in the refrigerator.

1 fresh cucumber (if small, then 2 pcs.) Peel and cut into thin slices.

1 avocado, also free from the peel and cut the flesh.

1-2 sheets of nori algae are laid on the bottom of the sliding form for the cake, customized to fit.

Now proceed to the layers.

1 layer - rammed rice (do it with wet hands so that the rice does not stick). 2 layer - cucumbers. 3 layer - avocado. 4 layer - fish. We put the nori leaves again and repeat once more the sequence of all layers. Done! We put it in the refrigerator until the delicious treat is served. Waiting for gastronomic ecstasy!
