To prepare pumpkin porridge, it is advisable to use a pan that has a thick bottom, so the porridge will not burn. You can take any pumpkin, but the most delicious porridge is obtained from nutmeg pumpkin.

The pan is covered and set on fire. After the water boils, the fire decreases, and the contents of the pan are cooked for 10 minutes. Then milk is added to the pan, and everything is again brought to a boil. Pumpkin should cook and soften, its readiness is checked with a fork. Salt and sugar are added, mix well.

Rice should be rinsed well first, then it goes to the pan. It is necessary to pour out the rice, evenly distributing it on the surface and in no case mix it so that the porridge does not burn.

The pan is covered with a lid, a small gap is left so that the porridge does not run away. The readiness of the dish is checked according to the rice - it must be completely cooked. After this, the porridge mixes well, the pieces of pumpkin are crushed by a spoon (they should easily disperse, the porridge will become homogeneous). Butter is added to the dish.

Before serving ready-made porridge to the table, it should be allowed to insist a little, 10-15 minutes is quite enough. If the porridge is cooked too thick, add a little milk to it and mix well.
