You will need

    • 500 g of veal;
    • 1/5 cup white rice;
    • 1 raw egg;
    • 100 g of white bread;
    • 1 cup of milk;
    • 1 onion head;
    • 100 g of hard cheese;
    • 1 tablespoon of olive oil;
    • 100 g of green onions;
    • 100 g of dill;
    • 200 g sour cream;
    • salt;
    • ground black pepper;
    • 2 cloves of garlic.

Instruction manual

1

Cut the low-fat veal into small pieces and chop in a meat grinder. To make the meatballs more tender, skip the minced meat two or three times. Instead of veal, chicken or turkey meat can be used. Soak a piece of white bread without crust in milk for 2-3 minutes. Finely chop the onion, grate the cheese, gently squeeze the bread and add everything to the minced meat. Salt, pepper, add one raw egg and mix thoroughly.

2

Pour water into a pan. When the water begins to boil, add salt on the tip of the knife and pour rice. Cook rice until half cooked, try not to digest it. After the rice is ready, let it cool and add to the minced meat, then mix well. Form round meatballs the size of a small egg.

3

Pour the right amount of water into the double boiler, grease the lattices of the double boiler with vegetable oil and carefully lay the meatballs. Try not to touch each other. Set the double boiler timer for 35-40 minutes.

4

Use an ordinary pan and a metal sieve if there is no double boiler. Put a pot of water on the fire, put a suitable sieve on the sides of the pot. Make sure that the bottom of the sieve does not touch the water. Gently put meatballs on a sieve and cover with a lid. After boiling water, cook meatballs for 30-35 minutes.

5

Cook the sauce while the meatballs are cooked. Chop green onions and dill. Grind the garlic and add it to the herbs. Add low-fat sour cream, a spoonful of olive oil, salt, add a little black pepper if desired. Mix everything thoroughly and put in a saucepan.

6

Serve the meatballs separately. Mashed potatoes or pasta are good for garnishing. If a double boiler consists of several tiers, you can cook steamed vegetables at the same time as meatballs, for example, cauliflower or asparagus beans.
