The first thing to do is wash the potatoes and remove the peel from it. Once this is done, it should be cut into thick slices. Then pour water into a pan, add salt and bring to a boil. Once the water begins to boil, dip the chopped potatoes into it and cook it for 10 minutes.

Next, melt the butter in a pan and fry the finely chopped onion in it for 5 minutes. While the onion is fried, chop the ham or bacon into small pieces. Then pour everything into a pan and cook for another 5 minutes.

This dish must be laid out in layers. First, put half of the whole boiled potato, then put the fried onions and bacon and only then cut the cheese into cubes. Pepper and salt. In the exact same order, make the following layers. Pour the cream on top of the dish and send it to bake in an oven preheated to 220 degrees for 10-12 minutes, that is, until it has a golden color. Tartiflet is ready!
