You will need

  • - spaghetti - 300 g;

  • - fresh tomatoes - 100 g;

  • - canned tomatoes - 200 g (or tomato paste);

  • - garlic - 2 cloves;

  • - onion - 1 pc.;

  • - basil;

  • - olive oil;

  • - salt.

Instruction manual

1

Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water for 7-12 minutes - according to the instructions on the pack. The indicated amount of spaghetti is enough for 3 servings, if necessary, take more.

2

We wash fresh tomatoes and pour over boiling water to make it easier to peel. Then peel and cut into small pieces. Peel the canned tomatoes and grind them in a blender (or wipe them by hand). They can be replaced with ordinary tomato paste. Peel and chop the garlic and onion into small pieces.

3

In a pan, heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. We spread garlic and onion there, lightly fry until golden brown. Then add canned tomatoes or tomato paste. Stew over low heat under a lid for about ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Then we send fresh tomatoes there and simmer another 5-10 minutes. You can add a little salt and pepper to taste, or, conversely, add a pinch of sugar. At the end, season with basil leaves, which can be replaced with thyme or dried oregano. After this, you need to hold the sauce on low heat for 1-3 minutes, then remove from heat and let it brew a little.

4

Put the prepared spaghetti on plates, a little grease with butter or olive oil. Put 2-3 tablespoons of tomato sauce on top. If desired, you can sprinkle with grated Parmesan or other hard cheese. Serve hot to the table.
