To enjoy the taste of chocolate, you can prepare a delicious cupcake decorated with almond flakes at home.

You will need

  • For a cupcake:
  • - 125 g of dark chocolate (from 60% cocoa content);

  • - 100 g butter;

  • - 3 eggs (proteins separate from the yolks);

  • - 100 g of powdered sugar (3 tablespoons separately);

  • - 100 g of ground almonds;

  • - a teaspoon of vanilla extract;

  • - salt on the tip of a knife;

  • - half a teaspoon of baking powder;

  • - a quarter of a teaspoon of soda;
  • For glaze and decoration:
  • - 100 g of dark chocolate (from 70% cocoa content);

  • - 30 g of butter;

  • - 20-30 g of almond flakes.

Preheat the oven to 190 ° C. Lightly grease the cake pan (approximately 23 by 13 cm) with butter and cover it with baking paper. Melt chocolate and butter in a microwave or in a water bath, mix until smooth, remove to the side.

In the bowl, mix the yolks with sugar (minus 3 tablespoons), add the vanilla extract and salt, beat until elastic foam. Add the cooled chocolate cream and ground almonds, mix until smooth.

In another cup, beat the whites to an elastic foam, add 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar and beat again.

Sift the flour with soda and baking powder into the chocolate mixture, mix gently and add beaten egg whites in three passes, kneading a uniform dough.

We spread the dough into the mold and send it to the oven for 35-40 minutes. The readiness of the chocolate muffin must be checked with a wooden toothpick.

When the cupcake has completely cooled down, prepare the icing for it: melt the chocolate and butter in a saucepan, mix and evenly distribute it over the cupcake. We use almond flakes as decoration.
