We will need:

  • 700 gr. freshly frozen capelin
  • 3 medium onion heads
  • 700 gr. potatoes
  • ground black pepper
  • salt,
  • Bay leaf,
  • dill and parsley.

Cooking method

Pour the frozen capelin with cold water or simply put in a shallow bowl and leave it for a while, until it gradually thaws. While the fish is thawing, we clean the potatoes and onions, wash my greens. We cut potatoes with round plates no more than half a centimeter thick. As the capelin thaws, it is well washed under running water. Then we take the pan, choosing the size so that the capelin evenly fills it. You can use a small baking sheet. The prepared capelin is tightly placed one to one down with the abdomen in a pan or baking sheet.

Slightly salt and sprinkle with pepper. We cut the onion into thin plates along the head and lay it on the fish so that it is not visible. Again a little salt and pepper. We take the potatoes and spread exactly over the entire surface so that the onions are completely covered. If the potato remains, then distribute it evenly throughout the top. Salt a little more, pepper and put 3-4 bay leaves. If a pan is used, then we cover it with a lid. We bake the baking sheet with foil. We put in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 180 degrees. When serving, make out greens.
