Easter is one of the largest Orthodox holidays, and the traditions associated with it play a big role in the life of believers. For example, the painting of eggs, which begin to be practiced a few days before Holy Easter.

Remove from the onion the top layer of the husk, put the resulting in a pan and pour cold water. Put the dishes on a strong fire, bring to a boil and reduce the heat to a minimum. Boil the husk for ten to fifteen minutes (the longer you keep the husk on the fire, the brighter the egg color will end up).

Cool the broth and lay the eggs in it. Put on fire, bring to a boil and cook for at least fifteen minutes. Lay the eggs on a napkin-covered plate and let cool.

Boil the eggs in clean water, take the boiled beets and rub them with still hot eggs. To simplify the task, you can squeeze juice from beets and "bathe" eggs in it. Natural dye will leave a pleasant burgundy color.

To get a gentle golden hue, you need birch leaves. Put them in a pan, fill with water and cook for half an hour. Cool the broth, send eggs into it (preferably white) and cook ten minutes after boiling.

Use special paint for eggs. It is sold in grocery stores, and you can purchase it a week before Easter. Dissolve the powder in water, lay the eggs and cook for ten minutes.

If you want to decorate eggs with more than just color, tie them with colored threads before cooking. The threads should fit snugly against the shell. You will get an unusual pattern.

Before cooking, tie a sprig of parsley to the eggs using a thread. The place under the leaves will not be stained, and the shape of the parsley leaf will be clearly visible on the eggs.

Dampen raw eggs with water, roll in dry rice. Wrap each egg with gauze and tie it tightly with thread. Next, cook them in any selected dye. As a result, you will get colored speckled eggs.
Useful advice
After you have painted the eggs, wipe them with gauze soaked in vegetable oil. So you keep the color and its brightness for a long time.
