    • black currant - 1 kilogram.

Instruction manual

1

First, select the berries that will be used to make jam. At this stage, it is necessary to pay attention to the degree of maturity of the currant. It is not recommended to use overripe or spoiled berries for making jam, it is better to give preference to strong and slightly unripe berries.

2

Then thoroughly rinse the berries, clean from dirt and debris. Rinse the berries better through a sieve.

3

Put the berries in a saucepan and mash them well with a wooden spoon so that they give juice.

4

Pour black currant into 1 kg of granulated sugar, mix thoroughly, put on medium heat and cook for 25-30 minutes. So that the jam does not burn, you must constantly stir it.

5

Remove the berries from the heat and place in a cool place for about 10 hours.

6

Put the cooled mass on medium heat again, mix and add another 1 kilogram of sugar.

7

Continue to jam for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

8

Cook the jars. To do this, rinse them thoroughly, pour over boiling water, dry and, if necessary, bake in a hot oven. If you are not going to store jam for a long time, then you can simply decompose it in clean jars.

9

Put the jam in the jars and without covering, leave for a day so that it can cool. Then cover and put in a dark cool place.

10

You will get a bright, thick, juicy and insanely delicious jam.

Useful advice

Blackcurrant contains a sufficient amount of pectin, due to which it acquires a jelly-like consistency well without additional additives;

Make sure that the jam boils well during cooking, not only in the center, but also around the edges.
