Dry pumpkin seed sleeps. Everything that subsequently should grow out of it, "slumbers" in the bud. But it is worth the seed to create conditions for development (growth), all the vital forces in it wake up. If you include germinated pumpkin seeds in your daily diet, the body will receive incomparable benefits. But just chewing such a product is boring, the process can quickly get bored. How to germinate pumpkin seeds

Soak the peeled pumpkin seeds in room temperature water overnight. In the morning, rinse, place on a damp cloth and put in a cool place, covering with one layer of gauze. Rinse the seeds with clean water every 4-5 hours. As a rule, healthy seeds germinate by the end of the second day. On the third day after germination, they begin to be bitter, so it is recommended to use them immediately or, at least, for one to two days. If you haven’t eaten immediately, wrap it in a damp cloth and put it in the refrigerator, where they can be stored for up to 5-6 days, provided that they are washed with cold water twice a day, incl. before use. Rancid, pungent seeds are no longer suitable for food.

True, there are two ways to save them:

- freeze in quick freeze mode;

- dry in the oven at 80 ° C with the door ajar and then grind into flour.

Whole Sprouted Seeds

As soon as the pumpkin seeds sprout, eat them with water or milk (no more than 50 g per day), add salads, first and second courses, cereals, sauces, etc. You can also combine them with honey and use as a treat or include in the bread dough (though, when baked, germinated seeds will lose some of their beneficial properties).

Ground Sprouted Seeds

Grind the sprouted pumpkin seeds with a blender or mince them. You can use the resulting nutritious product in the same way as whole seeds, i.e. feel free to add to ready-made cereals, gravy and sauces, to soups, as well as to various drinks - kefir, jelly, juices, cocktails, etc. Shredded germinated pumpkin seeds are organically combined with grated carrots, crushed nuts, dried fruits, fresh herbs, lemon juice and other products.

Pumpkin milk

Having prepared milk from germinated pumpkin seeds, you can just drink it like regular cow’s milk, or you can boil various cereals on it, add tea, jelly, coffee, fruit drink to it, knead the baking dough on it, including sweet, etc.

The recipe for milk. Take 1 part of the sprouted pumpkin seeds (both barely hatching and 2-3-day-old seedlings are suitable) and pass them through a meat grinder or chop using a blender. Then, with constant stirring, slowly pour 4 parts of water into the mixture and strain through a sieve or squeeze through 2 layers of gauze. Milk is ready. By the way, do not throw out the cake, but knead the dough for bread or pancakes on it, or just eat it, since this is a very useful product (you can add honey to it to improve the taste).
