Indian dhal soup is popular not only in its homeland, but also in Europe and America. This hot dish has a striking appearance and piquant taste.

You will need
- - 1/2 tsp ground chili
- - 1/2 tsp turmeric
- - 2 cloves of garlic
- - 1 kg of canned tomatoes
- - 500 ml of broth
- - 1 head of onion
- - lemon juice
- - 1 tbsp. red lentils
- - 1 cucumber
- - salt
- - ground black pepper
- - fresh greens
- - vegetable oil

Chop the garlic and onion thoroughly and fry in vegetable oil. Add all the necessary spices - chili pepper, black pepper, turmeric. Fry the mixture for 5 minutes.

Transfer the onion mixture to a small saucepan. Pour in the broth and finely chopped tomatoes. Rinse the lentils in cold water and add to the main mixture 10 minutes after cooking.

When the lentils are soft, add lemon juice and chopped greens to the soup. If necessary, salt the mixture to taste. Before serving, you can season the dhal with sour cream. Put a small amount of chopped cucumber on each plate.

Fresh or pickled cucumbers can be used to make dhal soup. Residents of Pakistan and Nepal supplement the list of ingredients with milk.
