To make the Faxes lentil soup you will need the following ingredients:

- brown lentils - 200 g;

- olive oil - a quarter of Art. l.;

- large carrots - 1 pc.;

- onion - 1 pc.;

- chopped garlic (can be dried) - 1 tbsp. l.;

- dried rosemary and oregano - 1 pinch each;

- bay leaf - 2 pcs.;

- tomato paste - 1 tbsp. l.;

- salt and ground pepper to taste;

- water - 1 l.

Pour lentils into a large saucepan. Now fill it with water. The liquid should be 3 cm higher than the beans. Put the pan on the gas and bring the lentils to a boil, cook for 10 minutes, and then drop them into a colander.

Now pour olive oil into the pan and place the dishes on medium heat. When the oil is slightly warmed, add garlic, onion, previously peeled and finely chopped, carrots, chopped on a grater. Stew vegetables for 5-7 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent. During cooking, do not forget to stir the vegetables so that they do not stick to the bottom of the pan.

Now add lentils to the pan, pour a liter of water, add seasonings: oregano, rosemary and bay leaf. Bring the dish to a boil and make the fire minimal. Now cover the pan with a lid, cook for 10 minutes. Then add tomato paste, salt and pepper to the lentil soup. Mix everything. Close the lid again. Cook until the lentils are soft, in time it will be about 30-40 minutes.

Eating lentil soup is recommended when warm. By the way, a little advice. If your first dish, after standing a little, becomes too thick, then you can simply add water to it and boil.
