Juicy, nourishing, very tasty dish of North Slovak cuisine. It would seem that a simple combination of cabbage and meat, but it can diversify your culinary menu. Usually cabbage with meatballs is served with sour cream and garlic sauce, which is also very easy to cook.

You will need

  • - 800 g of white cabbage;

  • - 400 g minced pork;

  • - 100 g of round rice;

  • - 1.5 cups of broth or water;

  • - 2 onions;

  • - 1 egg;

  • - 3 tbsp. tablespoons of tomato paste, vegetable oil, sugar;

  • - pepper, salt, dried marjoram.

  • For the sauce to the dish:

  • - 150 g sour cream;

  • - 3 cloves of garlic.

Finely chop one onion, fry in vegetable oil until soft, add round rice, fry until rice is clear. After this, pour in the broth, simmer under the lid until the rice is soft.

Thinly chop the cabbage, cut the second onion in half rings.

Mix the tomato paste with sugar, dried marjoram, salt, pour 100 ml of water.

Fry in a deep saucepan onion with cabbage in 3 tbsp. tablespoons of oil, add tomato sauce, cover, simmer over medium heat.

For meatballs, mix minced pork with cooled rice, add the egg, marjoram. Pepper, salt. You can take mixed minced meat.

With wet hands, form the meatballs, put them on the cabbage, simmer until cooked under the lid or bake in the oven. In the oven it will turn out even tastier, from time to time you can grease meatballs with tomato sauce or add broth.

Grind three cloves of garlic in a garlic bowl, mix with sour cream. Serve the resulting sauce with cabbage and meatballs in the Northern Slavonic style.
