When buying fish in a store, be sure to pay attention to its freshness. It should not have an unpleasant smell. When pressing the pulp with your finger, it should be sufficiently elastic and quickly restore shape. If there is any doubt about the freshness of the product, it is better to immediately abandon the purchase. This can be a health hazard.

Prepare the fish for cooking. Rinse thoroughly in cold running water. If necessary, cut into portions.

To make the steaks juicy, tender, with a spicy aroma of spices, they must first be marinated. To do this, just put them in a glass or enameled bowl, add a little salt, add coarse pepper and pour half the lemon over the juice. Cover and leave in a cool place for 15-20 minutes.

Meanwhile, cut the second half of the lemon and tomato into thin slices. From the foil, make “boats” according to the size of the pieces of fish: cut a piece of foil and pinch the edges on both sides so that the design resembles a boat in shape.

Lay out the foil boats on a heat-resistant baking sheet. In each of them put salmon steak, if necessary, add salt and pepper. Put slices of tomatoes and lemons on top of the fish. Pour in cream so that they cover a piece of fish to half.

Carefully place the pan in the oven and bake at a temperature of about 200 degrees Celsius until cooked.

When serving, salmon steaks can be served with fresh parsley and dill.

Useful advice

As a side dish, fresh boiled potatoes or steamed vegetables such as broccoli, young carrots are ideal for this dish.

You can also put slices of boiled potatoes into half-prepared potatoes in foil boats, in which fish will be baked. This must be done before the cream is added. In this case, you do not have to separately prepare a side dish. The dish will initially be prepared as a portion.
