The quality of milk sold in stores is kept at approximately the same level, but the village milk sometimes leaves much to be desired. Going to the rural market for shopping, use some tricks to distinguish quality milk. Of course, you won’t be allowed to conduct an “investigative experiment” right at the bazaar, but when you come home, it will not be superfluous to check the purchased product.

1

First of all, pay attention to the container in which milk is sold. Try to take only what is poured into glass jars. Firstly, a plastic bottle cannot be sterilized; accordingly, pathogenic bacteria can develop in it. And secondly, it’s very difficult to wash the bottle well even with a brush, which means that the milk will either turn sour quickly or you will be poisoned by it due to the presence of pathogenic flora.

2

A layer of thick cream appears on the surface of the milk a few hours after milking. If a thin film floats on top of the milk, then it is possible that it was passed through a separator before being sold. Accordingly, you can completely forget about fat content. If you want to buy whole milk, give preference to a liquid with a rich white color and a thick layer of cream on the surface. But do not forget that cream on fresh milk does not appear, it takes time to form them.

3

Some grandmothers add soda, acetylsalicylic acid to milk, so that the product stays fresh longer. You can use an ordinary litmus strip to identify various chemical additives, since it’s not so difficult to buy it now. If the blue litmus test turns red, then there are impurities in the milk that may not affect your health in the best way. When no changes occur, you can buy the product.

4

Undiluted with water or back milk quickly coagulates under the influence of alcohol. Pour milk into a small container and add as much undiluted medical alcohol. Shake the container and pour the liquid onto a platter. If the milk is curled, it is most likely not diluted.

5

Be careful when buying dairy products. Do not forget to pay attention to the seller himself, if he is untidy, then it is better to refuse the purchase and go to any nearest supermarket for pasteurized milk.
