Traditionally, schnitzel is made from pork, beef or veal, but why not make it from tuna? The taste of fried tuna is very similar to boiled pork, so the schnitzel from this fish is simply delicious! It can be served beautifully with a ball of rice and a refreshing radish salad with yogurt sauce.

You will need

  • - 2-4 pieces of frozen tuna fillet;

  • - an egg;

  • - 1 tbsp cream (15-20% fat content);

  • - 5-8 pieces of any bread or ready bread crumbs;

  • - 120 g of rice;

  • - 1 small green radish;

  • - 1 small carrot;

  • - 1 small apple;

  • - 200 g of thick natural yogurt without additives (preferably from cream);

  • - 1 small fresh cucumber;

  • - 1-2 tsp lemon juice;

  • - clove of garlic;

  • - a sprig of dill;

  • - a sprig of green basil;

  • - a sprig of cilantro;

  • - black and / or allspice (to taste);

  • - salt (to taste);

  • - vegetable oil for frying (preferably unrefined sunflower, but olive is also suitable);

  • - 10 g of butter.

Remove the fish fillet from the freezer and place it on the defrosting table.

Cut the bread into small pieces, put on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, put in the oven at a temperature of 110-130 ° C. When the crackers are ready, cool, transfer to a blender bowl and in a pulsating mode make a breading for schnitzels.

Pat the fish pieces with a napkin, salt, pepper and lightly pour lemon juice. Let stand for 10 minutes.

Wash the egg, break into a bowl and stir with cream (no need to beat). Dip a piece of fish and brew. Do the same with the rest.

Rinse well in several waters and boil until cooked, but do not boil.

Prepare a salad dressing.

Wash and peel the green cucumber. Grate on the finest grater, add yogurt, lemon juice, mix. Wash and drain the greens. Peel the garlic, crush with a knife and chop finely together with herbs. Add to the dressing, salt, pepper, mix.

Wash radish, peel, cut into thin strips. Wash the carrots, peel and grate. Peel the apple, grate it on a coarse grater. All mix. You can add a dressing right away, pour salad into it already in plates or serve it separately (at your discretion).

Lightly heat the pan, pour in vegetable oil, add butter, mix, increase heat. Put the schnitzels and fry on each side for 2-3 minutes, depending on the desired degree of frying.

Put rice on the plates and give the shape of a ball (or any other). Lay salad and schnitzel next to it. Since tuna tastes like boiled pork, you can use any prepared gravy or sauce suitable for meat if you wish. Additionally, you can serve sliced ​​pickles, cherry tomatoes.

Like meat, it is recommended to thaw fish not at room temperature, but in the usual compartment of the refrigerator at 2-6 ° C. In this case, the structure of the product is least affected, the taste and nutrients are retained as much as possible.
