You will need
- - 1 kg of small green tomatoes;
- - 500 g of sugar;
- - 1.5 liters of water;
- - half a teaspoon of citric acid;
- - a teaspoon of vanillin;
- - icing sugar.

Pour green tomatoes with 1.5 liters of hot water, add citric acid.

Bring the solution to a boil, drain the water. Then skip the tomatoes through a meat grinder.

Add vanilla, sugar and half a glass of boiled water to the finished mass, then mix well.

Pour liquid onto a baking sheet, place in a preheated oven to 250 degrees. Stir the mass so that it does not burn. It should be baked for about 30 minutes, until the future marshmallow becomes thick and transparent.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven, and put the pastille leaf on the foil and dry in a dark place at room temperature for about 6 hours.

Cut the plate into small pieces, sprinkle them with powdered sugar on top. Unusual green tomato pastille is ready. It can be served with tea or just like that.
note
The consistency of the pastille should be thick. If you have a liquid mass, add a couple of tablespoons of flour.
Useful advice
If you want to give the paste a vegetable flavor, reduce the amount of sugar and add a tablespoon of turmeric to the mixture.
