To make oatmeal tasty, the first thing you should pay attention to is the shelf life of the product, as well as the packaging. If oatmeal is packed in a plastic bag, then such a product can be stored up to 1 year. And if cereals or cereals are packed in a cardboard box, then the shelf life is no more than 4 months.

Recently, instant cereals have become increasingly popular. Yes, it is very convenient and fast. But if not only speed, but also the quality of the product is important to you, then give preference to the oatmeal that needs to be cooked for at least 10 minutes. Pour milk or water into a saucepan, add salt, granulated sugar and warm thoroughly. Once the liquid has almost reached a boil, pour the washed whole oat grains and, stirring constantly, cook until tender for half an hour. If you use cereal, then 10 minutes for cooking will be enough. As soon as the oatmeal is ready, put in it a piece of butter, cover and leave for 5 minutes.

How to cook oatmeal in the water.

Pour 200 ml of water into the pan, dissolve sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in it (dried fruits can be used instead of sugar). Heat well, without boiling slightly. Then pour 2 tablespoons of cereal. After boiling, reduce the temperature to a low value and cook for 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the finished porridge from the stove, season with butter and leave for a few minutes under the closed lid.

How to cook oatmeal without cooking.

In order to make a healthy oatmeal porridge, it is not necessary to purchase instant porridges. If you have a coffee grinder, you need to grind 2 tablespoons of oatmeal in it (Hercules). After this, pour the resulting product into boiling milk or boiling water, add salt and sugar, cover and let it brew. Dried apricots, raisins, jam, honey, nuts and so on can be added to the finished porridge if desired.
