There are three types of fish: oily, medium-fat and non-greasy.
- Fatty fish have more calories than meat. Such varieties include: herring, sturgeon, halibut, eel. They contain approximately 7% fat.
- In fish with an average fat content of about 5%, sometimes a little more. It includes: trout, pike perch, sea bass, pink salmon, tuna, catfish.
- Less than 5% of fat is found in lean fish. These are: cod, pollock, ice, perch, hake, pike, blue whiting.
