Making mixed salads of tomatoes and cucumbers is not recommended even for those who do not adhere to the principles of healthy eating. Red tomato and green cucumber are antagonistic products, and it is not at all an external color difference. Tomatoes, when consumed, create an acidic environment in the stomach and digestive tract, and cucumbers - alkaline.
From the course of elemental chemistry, it is known that salts are formed during the interaction of alkalis with acids. With frequent use of a salad of these vegetables, problems with the liver and kidneys can occur, and as a result, the filtration of the body will be disturbed.
To digest cucumbers and tomatoes, the stomach must produce completely different enzymes. According to the laws of physiology, this is impossible, so while one of the vegetables is digested, the second calmly decays in the intestines. The consequences of consuming such a salad can be very different: bloating, increased gas formation, epigastric pain.
Tomatoes contain a lot of vitamin C, but the enzymes contained in cucumbers contribute to the destruction of ascorbic acid and negate the benefits of eating lettuce.
If both of these vegetables are loved, then it is better to use them separately with an interval of at least two hours.
